Thank you for a Successful Design Week Kickoff!

We have just completed the first of six visits to Charlottesville by our Friendship Court design team– Liz Ogbu, Marc Norman, David Dixon, and Steve Kearney.

Thank you to all of you who took the time to meet the team and share your thoughts about the future of Friendship Court. Liz, Marc, David, and Steve all commented on the great outpouring of interest and support by so many in our community. Members of the team participated in a total of 32 meetings over four days with more than 100 people from the Charlottesville community. Meetings ranged from one-on-one discussions with residents to small meetings with elected officials and community leaders, to a holiday party and conversation attended by forty Friendship Court residents and countless kids.

All four on the design team agreed that your participation made this the best project kick-off of their careers.

So, after all that listening the team has a lot of work to do. They will collect and analyze the thoughts and ideas you shared. All four will be back in Charlottesville in February to talk with you again. They hope to test their understanding and see if they got it right.

To underscore our commitment to the residents of Friendship Court, please take the time to review the guiding Principles for Redevelopment.
